The saxophone has a history of over 160 years. It takes about a month, using over 300 parts, and machining brass and bronze, to build a saxophone. Houli is the home of the saxophone in Taiwan, and the island makes about one-third of the saxophones produced worldwide each year. Made In Taiwan goes global.We used to build saxophones by hand. Now with the assistance of ITRI, we have started digitalizing the way we position the sound holes, their sizes and the thickness of their walls, setting a professional standard for the way saxophones are made around the world.
